You can think of your eye lashes as being an extension of your eyes and they are extremely important to us not only for improving our appearance. People’s eye lashes vary in length greatly and men are just as likely as women to have long curly eye lashes and that is without having to enhance them! The main function of our eye lashes is to provide protection to our eyes from the environment. 1. Speed of growth: Compared to the hairs on our head, eyelashes grow extremely slowly. To reach full length, an eye lash will take at least 3 months to grow and this may longer if you have an unhealthy life-style which includes smoking and drinking excessive alcohol. The hairs on our head would reach the equivalent length in a third of the time after about one month.
2. Losing eye lashes: Although the eye lashes take a lot longer to grow then hairs on the rest of our body, we typically keep them for a much longer period of time. We regularly replace the hairs on our head in a natural ‘malting type’ cycle but this is much less frequent with our eye lashes. The average lifespan of an eye lash is around 200 days after which time it naturally falls out and is replaced by another one!
3. What are eye lashes made from? Our eye lashes are made up of around 4% water and 96% of a protein called Keratin. This is why not drinking sufficient water can affect the appearance of our eye lashes.
4. What determines the colour? Part of the actual eye lash contains a combination of different coloured pigments.  The combination of these pigments is what gives your eye lashes their colour and tone.
5. How many eye lashes do we have? This will vary from one individual to another as will the thickness of the eye lashes. The average person will have around 170 eye lashes on the upper eye lid and around 100 eye lashes on the lower eye lid.
6. And finally a bonus fact to make you cringe! Eye lash mites: 99% of all adults with share their eye lash roots with a worm like mite measuring about half a millimetre in size! If you have oily skin and use a lot of eye makeup you are likely to have a greater number of these. They are thankfully harmless and there is nothing you need to do about them!

1. You see with your brain! People don’t realise this but it is actually your brain that you see with and not your eyes. The function of the eye is to gather all the information about the object you are looking at such as its colour and contrast. This information is then sent via your optic nerve to your brain where it is processed for seeing.
2. Over one millions different parts: The eye has over one million different parts which all have to be working in tandem to give you perfect vision.
3. We are always born colour blind: When we are born we are unable to see colours at all. This colour recognition develops over the first few months of our lives.
4. Everyone needs reading glasses as they get older: Regardless of your sex or ethnicity, you are guaranteed to need reading glasses as you get over the age of 45 years old. This is because the lens in your eye that is needed for near focusing begins to lose its power from this age.
5. Colour blindness only affects men: Although this is strictly not true, 99% of all colour vision problems affects males. The reason for this is due to the fact the defective gene is carried only on the male chromosome. This can help explain some men’s poor fashion sense!

T.L Williams then sold his company in 1967 to plough, inc (now schering-plough) in Menphis,Tennessee, The whole cosmetic production facility was moved from Chicago to Memphis over just one weekend, then the company moved its facility to Little Rock, Arkansas in 1975 were its still located.

Schering-Plough sold Maybelline to a New York investment firm Wasserstein porcelain in 1990. The operational headquarters of Maybelline remained in Memphis until being sold in 1996 when the headquarters moved to New York. Then in 2000 the makeup factory moved to Brooklyn New York.

I think this mascara is the best I have used in a long time I love the way it makes my eyelashes look and feel glamorous, when I put this mascara on my eyelashes look longer and curlier and it feel like I am not wearing any mascara at all the plastic brush is amazing because it separates my lashes and they don’t stick together an go clumpy this mascara also gave me an even coverage on each lash, this mascara dries really quick so it does not end up on my upper eyelids or smudged under my eyes, I think I have found the mascara for me.

The first time I applied the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara I didn’t realise that it would take so long to dry. Because of this I applied it and went straight out and within a few minutes outside I had the mascara all over my face. Mascaras do not usually take as long as this one did to dry and maybe it was because this product is advertised as an eyelash enhancing serum as well as a mascara?

How Long Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara Lasted

Once I had got over the way the mascara needed to dry I could give a more honest review about how long it lasted. I applied the mascara in the morning and went out for the day. I found that by lunch time I was in need of a new coat as I did not have the initial look I had when I applied it that morning. This was a common thing and I found when using the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara I needed to apply it at least 4 times a day, even more than that if I was going out on the town where I found being in pubs/clubs meant I needed to re-apply about every hour or so.

My Opinion of Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara

I do not think the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara works as an eyelash enhancing product. I think I can justify this claim as I used the mascara for 2 months without using anything else. I did not experience any eyelash growth or enhanced volume of my eyelashes. This is contrary to other reviews I have read by buyers who say that the product did enhance their lashes. Together with these reviews there were equal numbers if not more buyers saying the same as myself that it didn’t work. I would not buy or use the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara again, it did not work for me and for the price I found it to be a waste of money!

In my opinion it did not give me then look I was expecting, yes it made them look longer and more curly but did not give the ‘false eyelash look’ I was looking for. Saying that it did make them look good but defiantly did not work as well as I expected. There is however a waterproof version of the Maybelline Falsies which seems to be getting great reviews so we will look a the Maybelline Falsies Volume Express Waterproof Mascara in another review at a later date.

When you start a new business you are always going to have some kind of competition no matter what field you are in unless you create something that is brand new and there is nothing likes it that only happens to a rare few! Competitors that you come across are likely to not take too kindly to you turning up and deciding to starting working in an area that they have been for some time!

The beauty industry is the same as any other in that sense but people who don’t take too kindly to what you are doing go to some lengths to try to put a spanner in your works! When this business was started is was so because my partner does semi permanent eyelash extensions and is a qualified nail technician, we started with only the two websites and as I had been working in website creation for some time I saw that the beauty industry was an area which was lacking in internet presence!

Before this I was working with my own business in the Limousine industry, I started a business called Limo Broker back in 2005 with a friend (which is now the leading limousine provider in the UK) and then went onto start my own limousine brokerage called Limotek (which I sold to start this business).

When Limo Broker was created it took over the limousine industry in a matter of months as there was a desperate need for a good well run business. Needless to say companies that had been working with limos for years did not like two young men coming into ‘their’ industry and making money off them, but that’s business!

Right now I am in the exact same situation which is really beginning to wear thin! I constantly get phone calls from potential ‘clients’ wanting to know every aspect of what we do here and who we do it with. I can usually pick these calls out as they are far too obvious. Usually they get the person within their company who is ‘best’ on the phone to call, these people whilst seemingly knowing nothing at all know all too much and its quite obvious they are not the ‘client’ they claim to be. Every time they are presented with an appointment for a time and date they wanted they suddenly need to ‘come back to me’, ‘check their diary’ or ‘they will call me back’!

Sometimes I will get someone who is interested in working with us as the site clearly says we are looking for new therapists and directly ask how to join the service that is how you do business properly!

This is more of a rant than anything as it totally wastes my time and gets on my nerves having to act out this scenario five or six times a day. We get 100’s of enquires per day and it’s very difficult when you have to deal with these kinds of people, it makes you not want to deal with anyone at all! Businesses evolve and competitors come into them and take over, this has happened a million times before and will happen to me at some point, I just hope I am too far ahead to be caught!
